All about our visit to QC in China

QC Centre is always working on strengthening the bridge between China and Europe. Therefore, we highly value planning regular visits between our QC office in Europe and QC China. After visits from our video team to China and a visit from QC China’s Project Manager Windy Pong, it was QC Europe’s turn this month to visit QC’s office in China. We chatted with Rob Wierenga, QC's Business Development Manager who told us all about his experience in China. Curious about his story? Then keep reading!

“China is a country that never fails to amaze visitors with its rich culture, delicious cuisine, and diverse landscapes. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit China for 14 days, starting with 3 days in Guangzhou to attend the Canton Fair and explore the local smartphone accessories market. The next few days were spent visiting the head office QC Centre in Shenzhen, meeting colleagues, and exploring the local electronic market and high-end factories.

Guangzhou, also known as Canton, is the third-largest city in China and is located in the southern part of the country. The city is known for its trade fairs and is home to the Canton Fair, one of the largest trade fairs in the world. I was thrilled to attend the fair and see firsthand the latest products and trends in the industry. From electronics to fashion, the Canton Fair had it all.

After the first day at the Canton Fair, we headed to the local smartphone accessories market, which was bustling with activity. The market was filled with shops selling all sorts of accessories, from phone cases to chargers and cables.

The next few days were spent in Shenzhen, the tech hub of China. I had the opportunity to visit the head office of QC Centre and meet my colleagues who work in the quality control department. We had a productive meeting, discussing various aspects of quality control and how we could improve the process. It was fascinating to see the working processes of the department and how they ensure that products meet the highest quality standards.

In addition to visiting the QC Centre, I also explored the local electronic market in Shenzhen. The market was massive, and it was a sensory overload with the numerous stalls and shops selling all sorts of electronics, from smartphones to drones and robots. The market was also filled with vendors selling components and parts, and it was interesting to see how they sourced and tested the products before selling them.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the high-end factories in Shenzhen. These factories produce some of the most advanced and innovative products in the world. The factories were immaculate, and the workers were skilled and dedicated. I was amazed to see how the products were manufactured, from the initial design to the final product.

Overall, my 14-day trip to China was an incredible experience. From the hustle and bustle of Guangzhou to the tech hub of Shenzhen, I was able to witness firsthand the incredible culture, hospitality, and innovation of China. The Canton Fair and the local smartphone accessories market in Guangzhou were fantastic introductions to the world of trade fairs and shopping. Meanwhile, my visit to the QC Centre and the electronic market in Shenzhen gave me a deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work that goes into ensuring the highest quality of products.

In conclusion, if you ever have the opportunity to visit China, I highly recommend taking the time to explore Guangzhou and Shenzhen. With its rich culture, incredible food, and innovative technology, China is a destination that will leave you awe-inspired and wanting more.”Rob Wierenga
